This artwork and the passive recreation park the Walk, Bike & Hike Committee has been working on with Canton Community Preservation Committee and MassTrails Funding. The committee is currently interviewing lanscape architectectural firms in the area to create a Feasibility Study and Master Plan of the Mary E Wentworth Recreation Facility.
The Walk, Bike, and Hike Committee has diligently collaborated with various committees, including the Community Preservation Committee, Select Board, FinCom, Planning Board, Master Implementation Committee, Conservation Committee, and Public Works, to move this project forward. With their approval, we are poised to embark on a significant endeavor for Canton.
Our vision entails the creation of a recreation park spanning over 30 acres, designed to enhance outdoor experiences. Prioritizing new parking facilities, implementing pedestrian safety measures, and introducing wellness amenities are key aspects of our plan.
Imagine the possibilities – an ADA accessible elevated boardwalk, a modern fitness court, a pump track, and a dog park, among others. This Master Plan aims not only to provide recreational opportunities but also to foster community, promote wellness, and ensure accessibility for all residents.
Additionally, this Master Plan undertake field reconnaissance, wetland delineation, public outreach efforts, and cost and timeline planning. Agreements with landowners have also been secured to facilitate the realization of this project.

Upon completion, this park will serve as a sanctuary for all members of our community, free and accessible to everyone. It represents our collective commitment to enhancing the wellness of Canton and its surroundings.
I encourage you, my fellow community members, to support this motion and help us create a vibrant reality that will benefit present and future generations.

With gratitude,
Jeff Sullivan
